2026 Mid-Year Educational Conference

This year, there will be workshops for our Kiwanians with the aim for something fun to go with the mandatory educational requirements. Here are some of the classes we provided:

Youth Protection Policy & Youth Protection Training by BK Knappenberger, District Chair

This session covers the mandatory Kiwanis International Youth Protection Policy and training program, which is central to our commitment to safe environments for youth in the SLPs.

From Struggle to Strength: Revitalize Your Club by Chris Martz, KI Director of Global Membership & Engagement

You are not alone. 29% of clubs have 14 or fewer members. You can, however, be the solution. Whether you are part of a club under charter strength or a lieutenant governor supporting clubs below 15 members, this workshop will help you focus on practical strategies to boost membership. Learn how to energize your club around membership growth; explore setting attainable goals and realistic expectations for current members; and discuss proven approaches to attracting new members. This session is also ideal for members of clubs that may be at risk of falling below charter strength in the next year or two.

Foundation Meeting by Candie Drouin, Foundation President

We encourage you to attend because your active participation is fundamental for shaping our future as we continue to grow the Foundation’s ability to serve the children and communities of the Southwest District. The agenda includes:

  • Review the successful financial achievements, grants, and community impact from the First Quarter (Q1)
  • Receive updates from key Foundation committees, including the Treasurer’s report and recent administrative progress.
  • Pivot to a future plan with strategic discussion on new fundraising ideas and initial planning for major campaigns. Your input on innovative and effective ways to raise support is highly valued.

Coach Like It’s Game Day: Effective Coaching and Leadership Styles that Drive Results by Edward Brabham Jr

Focus: Using empowering questions to build autonomy and avoid micromanaging. While Identifying team needs and adapting leadership approach.
