Kiwanis Dues:

To help you with your 2024-2025 budgets member dues and fees for 2024-2025 will be:

  • Publication fee $8.00
  • Liability Insurance $18.00
  • Directors and Officer Insurance (D&O) $4.00
  • Youth Protection / Cyber Security Fee $5.00
  • Southwest District Dues $40.00

Total KI and SWD dues and fees for 2024-2025: $152.00

PRORATED DUES AND FEES

Below is a chart used to promote new members. All members are assessed full dues on October 1 regardless of the date they joined. For example, Bill joins your club today. Their dues for 2023-2024 would be $25.33 (two months of the Kiwanis year, August and September). If Bill joins next month their 2023-2024 dues would be $12.67 (one month of the Kiwanis Year, September). On October 1 Bill, and all the members in your club, are billed $152.00 each for their 2024-2025 dues.

COST OF PERFORMING SERVICE

Liability Insurance, Director’s and Officer Insurance and the Youth Protection/Cyber Security fee may be paid from your service account as they are a cost of performing service. Any cost of performing service may be paid from the service account.

FORMER SLP (STUDENT LEADERSHIP PARTNERS)

For all former SLP members (CKI and Key Club) their Kiwanis International and Southwest District dues are waived for their first two years or portion thereof

They remain liable for Liability Insurance, Director’s and Officer Insurance and the Youth Protection/Cyber Security fee.

Keep in mind this waiver is for two years or portion thereof. In other words if a former SLP joins your club in March, as an example, the remaining 6 months in the Kiwanis year count as the first year of the SLP’s membership.

Let’s say this former SLP joins today. In this example August and September count as their first year of membership (2023-2024) and their prorated amount would be $5.83. On October 1 their SLP liability would be $35.00 for 2024-2025. On October 1 of 2025 their dues would be the full amount of $152.00 for 2025-2026. In all these examples your local club dues are added to the KI and SWD amount based on what your board feels is best.

Key Club Support:

If your Kiwanis Club sponsors a Key Club, THANK YOU! One of the duties of sponsorship is to include a budget line-item for the support of your sponsored SLPs. Southwest District Key Club has prepared a handout outlining the various Southwest District events and activities that your Key Clubbers may wish to attend this service year. The Southwest Key Club 2024-2025 Sponsor Budget Considerations handout can be found by clicking the image below.

This handout is intended to provide information to sponsoring clubs regarding event expenses, so your Club can determine what YOU want to budget for support. There is no expectation on behalf of the District that a Kiwanis Club cover 100% of costs…in fact, Southwest District Key Club believes students should always have “skin in the game”.

Every Kiwanis Club has different budgetary considerations. The communication on what has been budgeted to support your Key Club is more important than the amount. If your Kiwanis Club is unable to budget the funds needed by your Key Club, a willingness to help support their fundraising efforts is the next best thing!
