Distinguished Member Award
Every Kiwanian brings their own unique abilities to Kiwanis. Some Kiwanians deserve special recognition for going above and beyond in their service to their communities and children of the world. In order to qualify as a Distinguished Member you must:
Sponsor at least two (2) new members in the past Kiwanis year (Oct. 1st 2024 through Sept. 30th 2025)
Participate in at least two (2) projects out on by your home club.
Attend the District, Regional, or Kiwanis International Convention.
If you or a member of your Club have achieved the above requirements, they will receive a:
Presidential Letter of Recognition;
Distinguished Member Pin; and
Distinguished Member Certificate.

The highest and most exclusive annual recognition that a Club can receive is the Distinguished Club Award. To earn the Distinguished Club Award, your home club must:
Earn (at least) 100 out of 150 points listed on the Distinguished Club Guide;
The Distinguished Club Guide can be found HERE.
Be in good standing with Kiwanis International;
Be in good standing with the Southwest District; and
Be at or above charter strength (15 members) before October 10th.
If your Club is able to achieve these goals, the club will receive a:
Lieutenant Governors! Supporting the Clubs in your Division is one of the most important duties which you have been entrusted with and you deserve to be recognized for your accomplishments in doing so. The Distinguished Division Award is presented to Lieutenant Governors who:
Have at least 66% of Clubs in your Division earn the Distinguished Club Award; and
Recommendation through a Qualitative assessment by the Kiwanis President and/or District Governor.
If you or your Lieutenant Governor has achieved the above requirements, they will receive a:
Presidential Letter of Recognition;
Distinguished Lieutenant Governor Pin; and
Distinguished Lieutenant Governor Certificate.

Distinguished District Award
Together, we move forward! As we move forward as a District, we have the opportunity to earn recognition for our achievements. To earn the Distinguished District Award, the Southwest District must:
Have at least 50% of Clubs earn the Distinguished Club Award;
Submit a Membership Plan by October 31st;
Achieve at least one of the following:
3% increase in district membership; or
Achieve the Club Opening Goal established by the International President-Elect and Governor-Elect before the start of the Kiwanis year; and
Receive a recommendation through a qualitative assessment by the International President and/or Board Counselor.
If selected, the District will receive* a:
Presidential Letter of Recognition;
Distinguished District Governor Pin;
Distinguished District Governor Certificate;
Distinguished District Secretary Pin;
Distinguished District Secretary Certificate; Distinguished District banner patch;
Special Recognition in the Kiwanis International Convention program; and
Special Recognition on the Kiwanis International Website.
* Districts that have achieved their higher new club opening goal (AKA “Stretch Goal”) will receive a special award.
